By TourKro Travel Desk · Thailand DMC & local tour operator · Updated 29 Oct 2026

Documents
- Passport (6+ months valid) and 2 photocopies.
- Flight tickets, hotel vouchers and the TDAC confirmation on your phone.
- Travel insurance papers.
- A forex card or international debit/credit card, and some Thai baht cash.
Clothes
- Light cotton clothes, shorts and T-shirts.
- One set that covers shoulders and knees for temples and the Grand Palace.
- Swimwear, flip-flops and comfortable walking shoes.
- A light jacket for air-conditioned malls, buses and (in December–January) Chiang Mai nights.
- A small rain jacket or umbrella from June to October.
Health and others
- Your regular medicines with prescription, plus medicine for stomach upset and motion sickness (boat trips).
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap.
- Mosquito repellent.
- Thailand uses 220 V; most sockets take Indian two-pin plugs, but carry a universal adapter.
- A waterproof phone pouch for island tours and Songkran.
- Ready-to-eat Indian snacks if you are strict vegetarian (Indian restaurants are easy to find in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket).
By season
- January: High season everywhere: Andaman islands at their best, cool weather in Chiang Mai.
- April: Hottest month. Water parks and island trips sell best.
- July: Monsoon on the Andaman coast; Samui is dry.
- October: Rains ease on the Andaman coast; Similan Islands reopen around 15 October.
