By TourKro News Desk · Thailand DMC & local tour operator · Updated 4 Nov 2026
Planning a Thailand trip in the coming weeks? Here is the season right now, the festivals coming up, and how to plan around them.
The season in November
High season begins on the Andaman coast; Samui gets its rains.
| Region | Day / night | Rain this month |
|---|---|---|
| Bangkok & Pattaya | 33°C / 25°C | 45 mm, 4 rainy days |
| Phuket & Krabi (Andaman Sea) | 32°C / 24°C | 178 mm, 13 rainy days |
| Koh Samui (Gulf of Thailand) | 30°C / 24°C | 445 mm, 16 rainy days |
| Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai (north) | 31°C / 19°C | 40 mm, 4 rainy days |
November is when the dry season returns to Bangkok, the north and the Andaman coast: rain falls to about 45 mm in Bangkok and cool, clear days begin in Chiang Mai. Koh Samui is the opposite and has its wettest weeks of the year.
Next month: December
Peak season: Christmas and New Year sell out early. Indian wedding and honeymoon season.
Andaman sea: Glassy seas and blue skies: high season for island-hopping. Gulf sea: Wet early in the month, clearing from mid-December.
Many resorts add a compulsory gala dinner on 24 or 31 December. We show it in the price before you pay, so there is no surprise at check-in.

- November: Loy Krathong (full moon in November) and Yi Peng lantern festival in Chiang Mai.

Quick answers
Do Indians need a visa for Thailand?
Thailand has offered visa-free entry or visa on arrival to Indian passport holders in recent years, but the rules change. Check the latest rule on the Royal Thai Embassy or Thai e-Visa website before you fly, and fill in the online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) shortly before arrival.
Which currency should I carry?
The Thai Baht (THB). Carry some Baht or US dollars for small expenses; cards and UPI-linked apps are accepted in many shops, but street stalls, boats and markets want cash.
Is vegetarian and Jain food available?
Yes. Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket have many Indian restaurants with vegetarian and Jain menus. Tell us your food needs and we add meals to your tours.
