James Bond Island by Speedboat and In NPF [With Canoe] – Option 2 is a sea day out of Phuket, Thailand: clear water, white-sand bays and time to swim and snorkel between the islands.

Phang Nga Bay, north-east of Phuket, is a national park of more than a hundred limestone islands. Its star is Khao Phing Kan, called James Bond Island since the 1974 Bond film, with the needle-shaped Koh Tapu standing in the water beside it. Most trips add sea canoeing through caves and a stop at the stilt village of Koh Panyee.

Good to know: it usually takes full day (about 8 hours). The operator confirms the exact pickup or start time when you book.

What you will see and do: James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan), Koh Tapu rock, Sea canoeing through caves and lagoons, Koh Panyee floating fishing village and Views of Phang Nga Bay.

It is sold as ticket only (own way there). The booking box shows today’s price for each option, with a separate child rate where the operator offers one.

Big boats are cheaper and more stable; speedboats and longtails reach more islands in the same time. National park fees are paid per person. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a waterproof bag for your phone. Seas can be rough from May to October, when the boat operator may change the route for safety.

Best time to go: november to April is the dry season with calm seas. May to October is the monsoon: cheaper hotels, but some island trips are changed or cancelled because of waves.
