HONG ISLAND (Longtail Boat) (18 SEATS) is a sea day out of Krabi, Thailand: clear water, white-sand bays and time to swim and snorkel between the islands.

Koh Hong, north of Ao Nang, is a ring of cliffs around a hidden lagoon that you enter by boat or kayak. The island group also has a white-sand beach, a viewpoint and good snorkelling around Koh Lao Lading and Koh Pakbia.

Good to know: it usually takes full day (about 7-8 hours). The operator confirms the exact pickup or start time when you book.

National park fees are paid per person at the island when not included. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a waterproof bag for your phone. Seas can be rough from May to October, when the boat operator may change the route for safety.

Best time to go: november to April for calm seas and sunshine; May to October is greener and cheaper but wetter.
